Sponsored by GOOGLE, UKWELI (TRUTH) follows 3 artists in the Democratic Republic of Congo who are protesting the prevailing media narrative of war, conflict and rape—using their artistic voices to reclaim their nation’s narrative and present a more complete perspective of their country, their culture, and their truth.

Impact:
Via host @Realstories, contributions from viewers of Ukweli will be directed to Panzi Hospital and Foundation, a Congolese-led organization that empowers survivors of sexual violence as they rebuild their futures. Panzi provides survivors with access to compassionate, holistic care and was founded by Dr. Denis Mukwege, the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and a passionate activist for peace and justice in his beloved DRC.
